Is that a Wise Decision?

30 July 2021

Decision-making is, I think, one of the hardest things to do. Your decision on each of the issues or problems you’re facing today will definitely affect your life in the future. If your decision was right, then you would be happy with the result of your decision. For example, you have decided to leave the city for suburban living because for you living in the city is expensive and it is no longer practical to live there unless you have a lucrative and stable job.

You analyzed the pros and cons by writing the advantages and disadvantages of leaving the city for good and you consulted your family members about your final decision to move to the suburbs for less cost and practicality. All of them agreed with it and then after a few months, you found yourself moving to a new house in the suburbs. With all aspects of your decisions favorable, you became happy to settle down in your new home.

Decisions may not always be right because there are several things that you have to consider before acting on it. Some of them are the following:

  • Argue the pros and cons - As I have indicated earlier, you have to weigh the pros and cons of your decision before you put it into action. In this way, you can see which has more advantages or disadvantages that will give you an idea if you would push through with it or not. You'd better be sure of it otherwise you may regret it later.
  • Consider the consequences such as the impact on others of your final decision. There is a saying that “ no man is an island.” This means that you have to consider other people or your family and the result of your decision and its impact on them or other people. For example, schools may be far away from your new home. Are there other choices of schools or is homeschooling possible?
  • Ask some advice from the experts such as real estate agents, bank managers, your co-employees, your best friend that may give a piece of sound advice on your final decision to weigh things objectively.
  • Believe in your final decision. Whatever people say, you are at the helm to manage your life. Stay firm and have faith that your decision is for the good of everyone in the household.
  • Hold on to your decision and see it through - After weighing the pros and cons with the sound advice from others, let your decision prevail and follow it through.

On top of these, before you decide on something, come up with more ideas first and zero in on the smartest idea to come up with the decision. As soon as you have chosen the brightest idea, try to contradict it so that you can see both sides of that idea.

It takes clear thinking to do it. Bright ideas may be good but may not always be good for you. As such, you have to think clearly and that is, try to negate your brightest idea to be more objective about it.

Clear thinking, according to Rudolf Flesch, a naturalized American Author, readability expert, and writing consultant, in one of his notable books, means “facing the fact that life is full of difficult problems, that we cannot attain happiness by turning away from reality.”

“What we need is not so much an open mind - readiness to accept new ideas, but an attitude of distrust towards our own ideas,” he added.

That is why it is important to have more ideas from others by consulting them about your decisions before diving into it. Clear thinking is more than what we know about it. We have to decide according to the reality of life and based on others’ opinions so that our decision may be one that is more effective and will give you success in the end.

Lastly, it is good to repeat that decision-making includes thinking of the consequences to prevent regrets in the long run. For better judgment and decision making, I highly recommend that if possible, write your decision’s pros and cons behind a Seiffen Laminated Standing Desk (Eco & Pro) from Flexispot.

The reason why I highly recommend it is because it is a bestseller as well as economical when it comes to considering the stunning features it has. For example, it is rectangular-shaped that makes it more spacious for working efficiently and it has a dual-motor lifting system that supports its weight capacity of up to 275 lbs.

It has two kinds of keypads that you can choose from. The basic keypad allows you to to change from sitting to standing posture easily with the single tap of a button while the advanced all-in-one keypad has three (3)  programmable presets, so that you can easily save your favorite seated, standing, and under-desk cycling heights.

In addition, you can see your exact desk height on the energy-efficient LED display, which automatically enters sleep mode to reduce power usage when the desk is stationary. You can also set up convenient activity alerts to remind you to sit or stand at regular intervals, or turn the alerts off completely when necessary.

On the other hand, The one-inch (1") thick chipboard tops are available in a variety of solid colors and wood grains. Chipboard is a great choice if you want durability, symmetrical patterns, and consistently matching colors at a great price. Most importantly, the desktops have passed the product safety testing and certification by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

The curved desktops replace the sharp edges with contoured edges that make your wrists more comfortable for long hours at work. Designed with a smooth and round edge, it replaces the traditional sharp corners with rounded ones to reduce possible bumps or bruises.

Moreover, the environment-friendly medium-density fiberboard meets CARB and EPA standards. What's more, it is equipped with dual cable management holes, helping you keep your workspace organized, clean, and tidy. Learn more about this product and have one today!
