4 Jobs Extroverts Would be Perfect For

29 July 2022

Most of the jobs that you will be applying for will ask you what your personality type is. If it’s your first time encountering this, you might get surprised and think that they’re asking about something personal. But the company couldn’t care less about details of your personal life; they just want to know how you will blend in the workplace, how you will be interacting with your colleagues and bosses and how you will deliver your work outputs and reports. In other words, your personality type will greatly determine your daily behavior at work and in certain situations. It is a good determinant for companies to assess if you are the right person to hire for the vacant role.

If you are currently applying for jobs, one way to know if you will find the job fulfilling is if its nature fits your personality. Yes, you should challenge yourself and go outside of your comfort zone. But if you’ve been doing this long enough and haven’t been enjoying the work environment of every company you land into, you need to go for a job that is well-suited for your personality.

Ask yourself and answer honestly. Will you be able to bear working for a job, nine hours a day, five days a week?

Now if you’re the employer and you keep on hiring the wrong person for the job—hence, the fast turnover—then you must know what personality of an employee you should be looking for in a certain role. Ask yourself too if you want to work with someone who’s more independent and quiet or an outgoing, larger-than-life extrovert? Who among these two will be able to fulfill the company’s goals for you?

Of course, every person is still different. Personality types are not a definite factor in whether a person is perfect or not for the job, but again, it helps a lot to know if an applicant suits the role.

We enumerate jobs below that are perfect for extroverts:

Public relations officer

If you work in the public relations industry, you will be dealing a lot with client relations. This means you have to be sociable and a people person. Your enthusiasm to interact with them must be genuine and should not come off as purely for business. The client should feel that you are concerned for his or her business and not only for the salary that he or she pays you with. You would have to attend events and go to lunches and dinners with clients. This will be exhausting for an introvert but for an extrovert who loves to be around people, your energy will be invigorated. An extrovert will do well in building a positive public image for the company, given his or her confidence, charisma, and charm. There will be times that this job might require you to write which on paper looks perfect for an introvert but as a writer, you also have to be curious and inquisitive, qualities that extroverts also have.

Sales associate

Want big commissions? Your pitches can only translate to actual sales if you sound and look confident in approaching clients and customers. A sales associate can talk about anything under the sun with his or her clients, winning their approval from the get-go. Your clients would want you to be approachable and easy to talk with so that you can win their irrevocable Yes. An extrovert would love this job for the opportunity to meet new people, learn from them, and just for a good old conversation.

Human resources officer / Recruitment officer

As a human resources officer, you will be handling a lot of applications from thousands of job hunters. This means you shouldn’t be shy. You should be approachable and at the same time, a voice of authority, for them. The voice must not crack and eye contact must be established. Your gestures should also be calm and not tense as this will just make your applicant more nervous than he or she already is. As an HR, you might also be given the job to train candidates. On top of general employee relations, aka every office activity, is the HR department. Even if there are direct superiors in a big company or even a small one, the HR is who you would run to when you have concerns for or against the company. You need to know how to handle people as an HR officer.

Event planner

You will not only talk to your clients but to your suppliers and partner contractors. You must have a solid database in order to pull off an event for your client. An event planner can’t be shy. He or she must know how to negotiate because this is the only way that the client can work well within the budget and still get the best party of his or her lifetime. So from Day One of a new client, the talking will never stop. You will be the main coordinator from here on out. And you are not just working with one client, you have many others who want their events to be organized by you. This will require you to be energetic and enthusiastic which will influence a ton of how others behave before or around you.
